More Info:

The Blue Aeroplanes are Bristol's longest running band and a true art-rock institution who have inspired generations of post-punk and alternative groups including R.E.M., Radiohead, and Manic Street Preachers. 'Magical Realism - The Best Of The Blue Aeroplanes 1985-2025' is the first definitive anthology curated by the band, including tracks from across their catalogue, newly remastered by Phil Kinrade at AIR Mastering. The collection includes 23 tracks, featuring indie anthems like '... And Stones' and 'Jacket Hangs,' fan-favourites such as the classics 'Fun' and 'Bury Your Love Like Treasure', as well as more recent songs including 'Dead Tree! Dead Tree!' which has become a highlight of the band's legendary live sets. Also included are two bonus tracks - 'Showing Off To Impress The Girls', a recording by pre-Blue Aeroplanes group Art Objects, and 'I Will Love You', an exclusive demo of a brand-new track. 'Magical Realism' features a 24-page booklet with lyrics, new track-by-track sleeves notes by frontman Gerard Langley offering insight into the stories and inspirations behind each song, plus rare photographs from the band's archives. The cover art features a painting by Ann Sheldon, the artist behind many of the band's most memorable covers.
